DR. MICHAEL HWANG S.C.

DR. MICHAEL HWANG S.C.,(Singaporean) graduatedfrom University of Oxford, is a Senior Counsel of the Supreme Court of Singapore. His distinguished career includes service as a Judicial Commissioner of the Singapore Supreme Court and Chief Justice of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts in the UAE. He has held global leadership positions as Vice President of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) and Vice President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris. Additionally, he has served on the governing bodies of multiple premier dispute resolution institutions: the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC), Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) in The Hague, Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA), and Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA).

Domestically, Michael chaired the Law Society of Singapore while maintaining academic roles as Adjunct Professor and Visiting Professor at the National University of Singapore. His contributions to the legal field have been recognized through honorary appointments, including an honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Sydney and Honorary Fellowship at Oxford University's Pembroke College.
