HIAC promulgates Rules for Assisting Ad Hoc Arbitration
(Provisional)
On 1 November 2023, HIAC is pleased to announce to officially promulgate Hainan International Arbitration Court Rules for Assisting Ad Hoc Arbitration (Provisional) (Hereinafter be referred to as"Rules") and come into effect simultaneously. The promulgation of the Rules is an institutional arrangement made by HIAC for providing convenient and efficient assistance and services for Ad Hoc Arbitration so as to better enable institutional arbitration and Ad Hoc Arbitration to play complementary roles.
The Rules consist of 16 articles, covering the scope and conditions of application thereof, the contents and procedures for providing assistance services, etc. According to the Rules, on the basis of respecting the autonomy of the parties and guaranteeing the independence of the Ad Hoc Tribunal, HIAC will provide full assistance for Ad Hoc Tribunal based on the needs of the parties. With practical and operational contents, the Rules are an important achievement of HIAC in improving the arbitration system and optimizing the arbitration mechanism and will further enhance the international influence and image of HIAC.
